I have always been attracted to pretty things, both old and new. My true love of vintage first originated while still in high school (over 15 years ago!). The first item I was handed down was a red snakeskin purse from my "Nanny". The marble composition and the sturdy hardware made me fall in love at first sight! I have been collecting ever since!
I first started selling vintage pieces in 2003 on eBay. Since then I have added Etsy, Depop, Posh, and Instagram to my list. My shop here hasn't quite taken off, yet, as "HotCakez" has. However, I just recently got back in the game! :) I was diagnosed with Stage IV colon cancer on 12/21/12 and then again in 4/2017. It has been hard on both my husband and I, as we both had to quit working. Cancer is a full-time job! Now that I have been through both chemo and radiation and tests are so far clear, I am devoting myself to my little shop, "HotCakez". I have used the Internet name "tanyabell" for some time. I created it as a play on "Tinkerbell". (Tanya+Tinkerbell...get it?!). Peter Pan is one of my favorite movies to date! As for my current status, I have plenty of time on my hands to create and collect little lovelies for you! Although, it is fun, it is business. All proceeds of sales go to both my cancer and living expenses. I have a lifetime ahead of me, so I am doing what I love! I hope you love my shop, too! :)
